disenchanted dad vs. the tupperware thief
i leave in the morning to my mom yelling from upstairs to "have a good day" and to my dad yelling from downstairs (god bless him, he's losing his hearing) to bring down all the tupperware i have in my room..in my car...in my bag....basically anywhere he thinks u can hide a tupperware, is where "I" have it.
this leads me to think that everyday while i'm at work, dear old dad has a routine..
7AM - wake up & clean the sleep from his eyes and face (if he has to bring mom to work, or loi to the station he will do so)
based on the situation above, this timeline could vary, i will base it on him not having to do anything else but wake up at 7
7:30 AM - bring molee the dog out for a washroom break; followed by a quick training session along with a feeding for our spoiled dog.
8 AM - time for dad's breakfast..off to the kitchen we go. breakfast is made...
8:47 AM - .. and had. bit of crossword solving accomplished too (isn't it great to be retired?) gotta wash those dishes!!
washing and putting the dishes away is where i come in. even tho i'm not there. he puts the dishes away in the dishwasher (is it just filipino's that use the dishwasher for everything but washing the dishes?) at which point he notices..."there's a few tupperwares missing...that spoon that went missing last year still hasn't shown up...the second cup tumbler, women's show tumber, and notre dame tumbler are all missing...i should ask lara where it is when she gets home" he then pats himself on the shoulder for making the discovery, closes the dishwasher door and proceeds with his day...
11:40 AM - it's almost lunchtime. by this time he's managed to put in maybe an hour and a half of the HISTORY channel, and is on his first Murder She Wrote (once again, isn't it great to be retired??) off to the kitchen for some lunch
12:20 PM amidst all the mystery and war movies our Disenchanted Hero has forgotten his earlier days discovery..we repeat the process. ultimately ending in: "there's a few tupperwares missing...that spoon that went missing last year still hasn't shown up...the second cup tumbler, women's show tumbler, and notre dame tumbler are all missing...i should ask lara where it is when she gets home" pleased once again the day continues...
6:45 PM mom is home now and on a good day, i'm usually home too and excitement is building only forty-five minutes until GEO-PARTY! mom's in the kitchen making something for dinner, dad's watching tv. tv is this black hole that sucks up all our short term memory...dad's forgotten.
the night continues on like there was no discovery of missing...."anything" really. we go to sleep, i write in my blog. do a bit of reading...and crash....until of course....
