parenting "jules"

j's son was in the office this morning.

"another drink daddy?"

"no, you have one already."

"another drink?"

"another day."

"i want another drink daddy!" maybe j didn't realize what he was trying to say.

"not today. you have one already. another drink, another day."

* * * i can hear jules running around for a bit * * *

"another drink today? daddy?" he says, like there was a chance he had misheard, and another venture to the pop machine, in all it's sugar infested-button pressing glory was in sight.

"no."

denied once again. but i think he might be over it. i can hear the tv playing cartoons, and cereal being muched on, and a pop can being sipped at. crunch. sip. crunch.
