how to be cool

in an online community.

from AsianAvenue, hi5, friendster, myspace..it's unending. and even more so now that bloggers are creating smaller communities...

i've noticed a few trends on all these things:

-PICTURES-

• make sure, and you can't stress this enough, that your picture is in grayscale and posterized up the wazoo. or you could merge all highlights eliminating any detail you could possibly ever have. you get two points for that.
• take a picture in the washroom. what's up with that? i'm not sure, but last time i checked towel racks and spongebob shower curtains were NOT the latest backdrop. post it anyway, cuz maybe, just maybe, everyone who sees it will not notice that there are 4" x 4" bathroom tiles behind you. no really they won't.
• angles! u love the angles! extreme angles are welcome too! like when you post a picture rotated 180 degrees. 90 degrees? that's not artistic to me, that's just someone who doesn't know orientation in photoshop. lol.

- CREATIVE WRITING -

• i dont think i have much to complain about here, except YOUR, YOU'RE, THEIR, and THERE. people!! they're different. obviously you didn't get hooked on phonics. heck! even i didn't get hooked but i still learned! i can't stress the reading enough.
• the new web slang for words. wut? frendz? you're so close to the real word already..what's another press of a key?
• on the most part, one can't really complain about this section much. it's all a matter of expression. but grammatically, the eyes hurt.

that's the end of me complaining...i just found another bathroom picture...that's what sparked all this. but by those standards...i might not be as cool as i thought. nuts.
