ho hum sort of day...

two days straight of bad weather. i'm not dealing properly. normally i'm ok with the rain. free car wash remember? : P i guess in combination with numerous things...

1) it's a @!#$*&^! wednesday...bloody humpday
this, on a fairly consistent basis is never a good day for me. not sure what it is about wednesday that makes people in my office go plain ol' batty, but they do. it IS the busiest day of the week for me...i am positive of that. it's also the day that the only other girl working...nvm, only other PERSON in my department, always decides to show up 45minutes late for her day. really she does this everyday, but on humpday she is the factor that makes the hump a mountain. she NEVER really gets repremanded...probably playing the "me no speak a eengriss" card, in short she's my little headache in the day...everyday. she can be quite amusing at times tho, i do not interact with her (in fact, nobody does, it's just how she is) but if you were to stop at random what you were doing in the day and watch her...oh it's pure laughter. well, let's say pure wheezing, you can't laugh at her straight to her face. that's just mean. just like calling her "itis" because she's always sick, or ms. dumas (pronounced doom-as), or S.A.M.H (stank.ass.monkey.ho) you see? THAT'S mean! ha ha...doomass immigration is coming to get you!

2) everyone else around me is gloomy because of the weather
or PMSing...this deserves a BLOOODY FANTASTIC! insert extreme sarcasm here i guess that doesn't help the situation, not the sarcasm, but the raging hormones in combination with false assumptions that rainy days = foul moods. the rain is good!! look at it this way...at least it's coming down as a liquid. not snow. if it were snow then i'd flip right out.

there's a bright side to everything...i must maintain this mentality.

the learnding dun stop..

rabidiculous
Extremely absurd or silly.

now let's see if i can get this right...i believe it was around the time of when Kelis' Milkshake song came out. u just had to know that "milkshake" meant something other than melted ice cream and milk yummy goodness right?? but where do you go when u want to find out what milkshakes are? thankfully, tan, helped my ebonics-challenged self out:

Urban Dictionary.com, a slang dictionary with your definitions. Define your world. basically people sign on, write their definition of slang terms...make up their own words...or vote on what other people have contributed to the site from badonkadonk to queertastic. the random word feature is an added bonus. it takes a few hits to get a really good word...but man this site - just like my new favorite word...is pure rabidiculousness.

ottawa homeless never go hungry again...

the blue and white being banned in ottawa. so, we took you out of the playoffs...what was it? three years in a row? instead of making cheap shots at a fellow canadian team..fellow ONTARIAN team...why belittle your city? i've said it to a lot of my non-leaf fan friends...leafs fans are EVERYWHERE

the leafs were part of the original six...which means u have old school people who like watching an old school club skate! people who grew up with the Leafs before a hockey club was even started in their own hometowns! they fail to understand that leafs fans aren't going anywhere. and chances are many a leaf fan are not going to let the price of a donation to the ottawa food bank deterr them from going to see their boys play..no matter what city it is.

bottom line is..this stunt makes you think twice about the senators. as good a hockey club as they are, they're probably pooping themselves thinking about meeting with us again in the playoff season. no team confidence. so sad. even worse, i'm a die hard, leafs fan. always have been always will be, and i know the sens are a good club! i'll probably get lynched by some leafs fans tonight on the way home, but really i can't help it. at the same time however, in being a leafs fan...i'm also a HOCKEY fan. that is what we're cheering for isn't it? the senators are a great team, offensively and deffensivley they are amazing. their captain needs a hair-cut but what on earth does that have to do with how he plays? the sens have no confidence in their team which is sad...my point (i like going off on tangents, have u noticed yet?) feel your team, and don't care where or who they are playing against. get at us on the ice...that's where it counts.

see u in the playoffs...

timmy ho dropout

is it just me or is it a prerequisite at tim horton's to:
- be a complete moron
- not speak english
- have the memory capacity of a fish

loi came into work with me today. a few nights ago..she actually won something rrrrroolling up the rrrrim, it was a muffin. not a muffin shaped like a bike...or a tv...or 1 of 30 GMC Canyon's...but a plain old muffin, of my choice, so it wasn't bad at all. we go through the drive thru today to save some time...make our orders to the speakerbox and drive forward to the next window. where we find our brown clad timmy ho diva at the window.

let it be known, i have never won rolling any rims, i was about to pop my r.u.t.r.t.w cherry!!!

feeling quite excited, i hand over my winning cup with rim....only for it to be rejected!! she hands my cup back to me saying that i only have to give her the rim to redeem my prize, ok fair enough, i try and hand her the cup again asking if she could just throw the cup out for me instead? after all what am i going to do with a cup with a ripped up rim?? she gives off a fairly good roll of the eyes, she takes the cup and my $10 and sends me on my way. now wait a freakin' minute...did i just pay her $10 for my medium french vanilla and loi's medium coffee? this is my fault..i didn't ask for my change. so i turn the car around head back on into the store this time..i ain't waitin' to talk to an unhappy little tim horton's soldier again i'm waiting patiently in line until i am able to bring up my concern with the cashier. who then passes me on to what looks like the head mistress of the tim horton's drivethru clan, she listens to me complain about my over-priced coffee and runs off into the back mumbling something under her breathe. a few moments later diva ho shows up carrying out what looks like her lunch, it's 8:45 am...must be breakfast.

"i no geev u chains?"

no u did not ijit...why else would i be back in here when i could be on my way to work?

"ah yoo shoo? i don't lemember...i no geev u chains?"

now i speak, very slowly, she's obviously new..and the ESL classes aren't taking effect yet "NO, i didn't get any change. i gave you $10 for two coffees...it came out to $2.64...i...need....change" change woman! perhaps i should have said chains...she may have understood that more.

anyway..i really should not be dogging tim horton's employees. but i've had so many ill moments with this franchise that i just could not resist..

back to work. i totally should have screamed in the intercom (a reference from tim horton's fiasco #2)

purr in thurr?

happy happy astroday to gerson!

yesterday we went out for his birthday..dinner then club clubbing @ Indian Motorcycle. i'm finding myself wanting to and going out to clubs more now. not that it should be considered a bad thing. but c'mon now...if u know me. i'm so not a club kid. two night in a row. so not healthy for sleeping. good thing i woke up at 1:30 today..shocking :P

dinner was good, small restaurant. no, really small restaurant. 20 people showed up for dinner as planned, and i swear we filled half the restaurant! it was good eats. seafood pasta...and hmm...pasta...some baby cow...did i mention they had pasta? i had ordered a garlic shrimp antipasti (appetizer), thinking that it was an italian restaurant, portions should be fairly sufficient. it came out, and i had a whopping 4 shrimps. god damn. well thank goodness for nina's alcoholic vodka pasta. that filled the rest of the void in my stomach. i'd definitly like to go back there for dinner and have a full meal. like the birthday boy said.."when i have 2 hours to spare to wait for dinner"

paying for the bill seemed to be a huge problem...again. i'm not too surprised at that however. but it happens almost regularly at every one of these occasions. oh well... *toss in money* i'm DONE!

Indian Motorcycle was also good times! it was a cougar haven..that was a bit scary...a lot scary. i remember thinking at one point in the night that buttahP would have been straight pimpin' it at this lounge! the dJ was alright. his dancehall set already rocked last night's sugar fiasco. in between the rnb and hiphop sets he played a lot of retro house (me like) some not so sweet techno, and mJ! like i said, already doing better than sugar. i ran into an old (really i wasn't trying to lead into another cougar punchline. wouldn't that have been awesome tho?) friend, he was mashed, it was good to see him, but i was not impressed by his drunken humor. hopefully he got his drunk ass home.

all in all i had a pretty good weekend. i will feel the damages probably tomorrow at work...

something to look forward to. cross your fingers for me folks..i think the meeting will actually happen tomorrow. it's the step i'm taking that will turn into a leap forward in my career. and i like the sound of that...here's hoping.

3.13.2004

not so sweet sugar

release party. filipino pride. need to dance. seeing friends. free drinks? who knew why i went. but i went to sugar yesterday. probably not the smartest idea considering i'm going out again tonight.

dance oh gay man dance! or go to the washroom..but please get the hell off the dancefloor. i don't consider myself an amazing dancer. but i have enough confidence to say that i have rhythm..and when necessary have been known to shake a little boo-tay. i have never seen so many people amused, to put it lightly, at one man's efforts. 90% diva + 5% theatre + 5% dillusion = 100% pure entertainment on the dancefloor. words can't describe the dance moves, maybe someday the boys will let me photograph their renditions. hopefully someone will be equally amusing tonight.

anyway i'm off to bring mom out...i need a nap. SoHo anyone?

3.12.2004

fruit punch junkie

remember when all u knew about in a day was that in the morning u would be dropped off at some building where there were a bunch of other little adults running around, you'd take your jacket off put it in your CUBBY and then play till you couldn't play anymore? i do...it was daycare. it was awesome!

it's about 11:10 AM (EST) and i'm sitting at my desk, having of all things, two cookies and a fruit punch juice box. and to make it even better i'd like to follow this up with a scratchy green wool blanket and a cot, that would make this all complete, the infamous NAP TIME...saweet. there's something quite comforting about drinking something out of a juice box, only now u need two juice boxes because the 250mL of colored liquid sugar goodness is just not enough. i think there were more options too back then.

anyway..back to the grind of being adult..maybe i'll schedule nap time for around 4:00 on the good ol' maud couch...that would be excellent

3.11.2004

don't send a kidd to do a man's job

or an eagle's for that matter...or even a tellqvist! geez! the leafs fell to the penguins 3 - 2 tonight. yes that was not a typo, it says PENGUINS! horrible! don't get me wrong..the pens played well, but when you're outshooting the opposing team 46 to 17?? u would like to think that a win would come of it. then u must consider..the KIDD factor. by the end of first period the leafs were already outshooting the pens 9 to 1, the score was 1-1 (thanks joe). give me a break! 1 shot on net was allowed and it was a goal!

such a tease going into the ACC early too, belfour's skating...francis skating...mcCabe skating...oh no! wait! why is kidd skating?? i am reassured by jimmy, that Belfour would not suit up and put on his mask and skate...then NOT play. valid enough argument. up until the excitement builder lights out and the leafs first hit the ice... what on earth is kidd doing? where is belfour going? no belfour is NOT doorman to the bench tonight!! i was quite ansy by this point..then the game started...

outside of losing..again this was a good second game to see my leafs. the effort was amazing on their part in all aspects (minus the aforementioned) i screamed so much my lungs now hurt..anyhoo..pictures to be posted soon.

disenchanted dad vs. the tupperware thief

i leave in the morning to my mom yelling from upstairs to "have a good day" and to my dad yelling from downstairs (god bless him, he's losing his hearing) to bring down all the tupperware i have in my room..in my car...in my bag....basically anywhere he thinks u can hide a tupperware, is where "I" have it.

this leads me to think that everyday while i'm at work, dear old dad has a routine..

7AM - wake up & clean the sleep from his eyes and face (if he has to bring mom to work, or loi to the station he will do so)
based on the situation above, this timeline could vary, i will base it on him not having to do anything else but wake up at 7

7:30 AM - bring molee the dog out for a washroom break; followed by a quick training session along with a feeding for our spoiled dog.

8 AM - time for dad's breakfast..off to the kitchen we go. breakfast is made...

8:47 AM - .. and had. bit of crossword solving accomplished too (isn't it great to be retired?) gotta wash those dishes!!
washing and putting the dishes away is where i come in. even tho i'm not there. he puts the dishes away in the dishwasher (is it just filipino's that use the dishwasher for everything but washing the dishes?) at which point he notices..."there's a few tupperwares missing...that spoon that went missing last year still hasn't shown up...the second cup tumbler, women's show tumber, and notre dame tumbler are all missing...i should ask lara where it is when she gets home" he then pats himself on the shoulder for making the discovery, closes the dishwasher door and proceeds with his day...

11:40 AM - it's almost lunchtime. by this time he's managed to put in maybe an hour and a half of the HISTORY channel, and is on his first Murder She Wrote (once again, isn't it great to be retired??) off to the kitchen for some lunch

12:20 PM amidst all the mystery and war movies our Disenchanted Hero has forgotten his earlier days discovery..we repeat the process. ultimately ending in: "there's a few tupperwares missing...that spoon that went missing last year still hasn't shown up...the second cup tumbler, women's show tumbler, and notre dame tumbler are all missing...i should ask lara where it is when she gets home" pleased once again the day continues...

6:45 PM mom is home now and on a good day, i'm usually home too and excitement is building only forty-five minutes until GEO-PARTY! mom's in the kitchen making something for dinner, dad's watching tv. tv is this black hole that sucks up all our short term memory...dad's forgotten.

the night continues on like there was no discovery of missing...."anything" really. we go to sleep, i write in my blog. do a bit of reading...and crash....until of course....

i leave in the morning to my mom yelling from upstairs to "have a good day" and to my dad yelling from downstairs (god bless him, he's losing his hearing) to bring down all the tupperware i have in my room..in my car...in my bag....basically anywhere he thinks u can hide a tupperware, is where "I" have it.

so i have to ask again ... how great is it to be retired?!?! : P

do it! do it!

wow. what a weekend...WHAT a weekend. sleep deprivation has never been so much fun and hurt so bad. ha! actually that's more like every weekend. i can validate not sleeping this weekend tho it was good times, even tho according to my goals for the weekend i accomplished nothing!

it was "let's go to the movies" weekend..friday. stayed home watched School of Rock. that Jack Black is one funny man. his face is mad flexible and pure evil sometimes..but i enjoyed that movie. and shockingly my parents liked it too. it's awesome i asked my dad this evening if we could watch Austin Powers : The Spy that Shagged Me and he said that mike meyers was corny, and that jack black is way more funny.

saturday..dO it! dO it! was at my grandma's death anniversary mass, where i see my cousins who i do not see EVER! except at occasions such as this. one stuck out like a sore thumb...was sporting a nice VonDutch hat during mass. poor arded boy with no manners. ;) jimmyboy picked us up from there for saturday movie night...Starsky&Hutch. it was a movie with funny moments. never watched the tV show so i don't know how to compare the two. but it was a funny movie..that definitly caused some crazy moments afterwards.

anyway..i'm tired..must sleep..so tired...lack...of...sleep...catching..up..zZzZzzzzzz

++ today's my doggie's birthday...HaPPy BirthDay MoLeE

rain rain DON'T go away

today's a gloomy day. but i love the rain, it's cleaning my car for me. pure laziness on my part. but at least the salt will be gone! and high of 13!! i'm hoping the sun will come out to play (aka. dry my car)

TGIF fo sho! i'm totally ready for a weekend. must sleep. plans? maybe get some sleep..do some knitting...sleep maybe...read....finish my site...oh and did i forget sleep?

it is the one year death anniversary of my lola nette this saturday. i am not sure how to react to this. she and her husband, as far as i can remember throughout childhood, were the coolest people ever! they drove a white corvette, joked around with me even tho i was 5 times younger than they were, and talked to me like i wasn't 5 times younger than they were. and above that the same time spilling the spoils of being my grandparents all over me and my sisters!! like i said nothing short of amazing...

and now, one year after her death. i take my "black clothes" and put them aside. and celebrate that she is gone to a better place. : ( R.I.P lola

looking forward to a nice night with the banate's, santos', and a hipolito. throw in a few JohnnyBurgers...maybe even some pool, and u've got my evening...

updates later...

street blues

i'm writing this pretty late..i'm mad sleepy too. blame the 2 hours straight of CSI. i can't help but watch it! even the reruns!

work was alright today. it was work, if that is any way to gauge it. i laughed a bit,but mostly got frustrated with one of my co-workers *sigh* the story of my work life. everyone at work seems to play a role, i'm the complainer. but today, the mystery worker struck again. many of my co-workers have wondered how she is still employed...whatever. she knows she's been slackin', hopefully the rims on her wheels start spinning some time soon.

today was my meeting with my future...it didn't happen. another disappointment to tally up. tomorrow i will make sure it happens.

on a completely different note...way to go LEETCH!! 6-2 that's awesome! goLEAFSgo!!!

countdown to my game with jimmy 6 days!

3.03.2004

i love my bagels...do you?

as per usual i am at my desk working away (ha!) no really today i've been working. anyway, i was thinking that since i didn't write anything in my journal last night, i should come up with something pure diamonds (thanks gerson) for you to read today.

in the background i hear people conversing about a job that we had done a while back, VIVA LAS VEGAS. the job entailed a fairly sweet invitation box that had a light sensitive sound box that sang the ever so popular song by elvis. but the conversation continues and i hear some random feedback bits coming from the head of the department. he breaks off into a giggle and starts telling us how the 4 year old daughter of one of the clients who had received the invite was humming the short tune around the house. of course mom thinks it's cute and asks her to sing along with her. now while mom is raring to go and belt out in show-tune style her own personal rendition, she hears her daughter echoing "PEEEeEEeoPLE LOvE BAgeeLS!" at this point, on cue i am ready to fall on the floor.

as awesome as that was, my day is still not over, it's 1:00 for heaven's sakes! cute kid...

crushed roxy dreams

so i'm not going to fiji. apparently designing out of your ass is in this year's trends. [mental note: design tomorrow with my eyes closed and with my feet] that's frustrating. kudo's to the semi-finalists. except the last girl. she took my spot. i'm bitter...

inadvertantly today i also sent out a virus. horrible! from worse to worse. i'm sorry to anyone who's reading this and got the virus. i swear i didn't mean to send it to you. i'm working on fixing my AFFOL to not send out anymore crazy "money making" emails.
so i have started my blog for the year, hopefully i will be dedicated enough to spill my grey matter for you to read and enjoy and follow religiously! i know u do it ...
