birthday wishes

6.24.2004

this is not a come back...

i had this thought of when i decided to continue writing in my blog, and the creative exlax started to kick in, i would have something super amazing to write.

alternatively...i share with you that there's a thief in my office again. a trend, that i am much much too tired of experiencing. it makes no sense, i know, but here we are again...6 months after one shady situation had been rectified, jumping full force into another...

why are we even having this situation? i should not be scared to leave my iBook on my desk and walk away...but alas, i am. and it's horrible. HORRIBLE.

weekend adventures

i lay here on a much needed sunday afternoon, getting myself mentally ready to wow you with this past weekend's happennings. of course while keeping in step with the same witty demeanor of past entries....ok. i'm ready.

friday [harry potter]

i am a HUGE harry potter fan. HUGE! words like HUGE and GINORMOUS could not even come close to how big of a harry potter fan i am. the third movie in the series, Prisoner of Azkaban, sadly is not my favorite, but the book still remains at the top. you should read the book if you have not already, and for that matter read the whole series that has been written and released thus far. but don't skip through the internet looking for the ending that J.K. Rowling wrote for a dying child. that would be like, buying a standard car and not knowing how to drive it. oh wait. i did that. ha! but really, don't look for the ending.

when it all comes down to it, everyone has their opinions about this movie. but when reading this site, only MY opinion matters, and i personally think that it had it's moments for sure. the change in directors definitly set the stage for a change in direction in the movie. and while chopping out a bunch of details from the book that i thought would have been vital to a proper introduction to the other books...things to keep an eye out for: the quidditch final; and buckbeak. he's a star, he's animated, but he's still a star! the rest i leave to written genius...

saturday.am [woofstock 2004]

if there ever was a day when a day went to the dogs. this would be it. alongside triple the amount of feet and paws invading the distillery district: the banates, santos', and a hipolito walked three unlikely doggie cousins. brooklyn, the hyperactive bulldog; jersey, the princess; and molee, the good girl. i'm bias, my dog is always the good girl.

all in all the turn out this year was amazing. and it was just as fun this year as last, i'm thinking that at the rate that this festival is growing, they may have to move out of the distillery for next year. did i mention the free dog food? amazing! we now don't have to shop for doggie-type treats for molee for let's say the next few months! we're good!

something disturbing tho, for any dog lovers out there IAMS O DEAD

saturday.pm [d'luxe insanity]

"you have to be ready by nine" selle reminds us as we go our sepparate ways from woofstock. we agree and off we go. that gives us ample time to get ready, or wait. do we? we go about our day and i bring my mom out to get some dinner for us all, when i get a frantic call from the house...

"selle said to be ready by nine!! but mark has to be there at nine!!!" good lord!! it's 8:30 and i'm still on the road. that leaves us no time...ah well! we deal. got ready, ate dinner, out the door in 15 minutes! we rock!

d'luxe is not bad it's small but it's big enough to be comfortable. the candles on the ceiling are something to remember for sure. the "man/woman" was there, and with the site of that weirdness came an entourage of even more interesting people: colonel sanders was there, playing the role of what i think was the manshee's sugah daddy; hollywood hulk hogan, no word of a lie. i swear!! or some guy who idolized him so much that he dedicated a life of plastic surgery to look like him. (sadly enough, it was the latter); InEssence was there dancing up the walls and the three guys who played drums during the NEVER ENDING HOUSE SET. never ending. really it NEVER ended. i'm all house music'ed out.

highlights of the evening, included watching people attending hard house night in guverment. the super stick-like asian girl dancer. who knew that it was possible to move without bending joints?? the small but bouncy asian man, i must admit the boy had heart, an ecstasy pill sized heart. then there was the GHETTO (and i'm not exaggerating with my bold and underline) gyal.

after a night of laughs, house, the occasional sketchy tripped out man (just like in the raving days, alright!!), and the real manshee! (i forgot about her! very not pretty, and very in need of a mirror check) we headed out for the traditional after hours chinese food/grease on spadina, Rol San. we drove north on spadina looking for parking and after missing two straight parking spots on the street, mark adventured onto a small street to a small parking lot. of course, "parking by permit" parking lot. we're all about being gangsta. thoughts are shared about if the car was going to be towed, and after a convincing shpeel by mark. we got out of the car and walked to the restaurant. dinner was good, no near death accidents for me or jim so all was good.

we're heading back to the car...wait....what car? where are all the cars?? selle is going mental because she thought we were joking. mark is going mental because there's broken glass all over the floor and he thinks the car was stolen. (we later confirmed that it wasn't glass from our car, because heck! we parked two cars over!) loi, jim, and i are going mental because it's 4 in the morning and the car is gone!

the process of thought...
  • we have to call home, let them know why we're STILL not home...
  • brain cells are asleep, itis is kicking in...must sleep
  • wait! how can we call home? all of our cell phones are in the car!
  • oh..*whew* mark has a cell phone. but he's finding out where the car is...
  • alright the car wasn't stolen!

moy and tae come to the rescue, we pull a clown car move, and put 7 people into tae's altima. poor altima. now we're driving all around downtown toronto, trying to avoid policemen, avoiding view of moy's bum, and using PT Cruisers as shields, all to get to the towing lot, funny but not fun, there is a difference.

$107 towing fee and a $20 ticket later, mark gets the integra back. and we're on our way home. but the highways are closed because of a bike race that starts in an hour, yes an hour! it is now 5 in the morning. the sky is no longer dark and laden with twinkling stars, but a smokey blue. the sun is rising.

as we drive along kingston road, we talk about the nutter that called the tow trucks on us. she woke the man up to tow 10 cars! he had to make several trips to clear the lot. and all because this lady has nothing better to do but call him up on a saturday night/sunday morning saying people are in a parking lot that she doesn't use. excellent. the tow truck man, told her to just let off and let people eat! it was 4 in the morning for goodness sakes! but she insists that they take all the cars out of the lot, including the car of the owner of Rol San. (on a side note: she's done this more than once to him)

we finally make it home, 5:40 in the morning. and the birds are tweeting and all i can think of is crashing...and of course having to write this all down the next day. which inadvertantly turned out to just be later today...

adventures in clubbing...

flames in OT

the flames won. series is now 3-2 flames. this is another series i am torn between. i want the Flames to win, because, well they're Canadian! but at the same time the Lightning, it's like watching the Leafs play. a Leafs team where the players are all 20 years younger except for their veteran captain, Andreychuk. he's the bomb. probably the only 14 on the Leafs that got breaks.

either way i am cheering for a Calgary win in the end, but wouldn't be completely broken if the Lightning took it home. it's all good summer hockey to me. and i LOVE summer hockey, especially when there's someone worth watching!

peanutty

you know how they say "you don't miss what you have until it's gone"?? well, i miss my eye. my left eye more specifically. the left side of my face is all poofy. why? good question. i have a super sensitive allergy to peanuts. . .

last night, i went out with mafu and moog. we watched Kill Bill 2. this, is a good movie in it's entirety and both volumes on their own. pai mei is my favorite simply because of that nutty beard of his. the small differences behind the making of his scene too, the camera used was of lower quality. giving off the similar effect of an old school kung fu movie. but only in scenes where pai mei is the only character in frame. tarantino...awesome.

we went to dinner along spadina afterwards, golden noodle house? i think that was the name. i've had take out from here before so it was a good idea to go there, meaning safe. although, the confusing "peanut conversation" with the non-english speaking waitress proved to be quite distressing. it was awesome how much a simple question like "do you cook anything in peanut oil? or with peanuts?" could cause her face to distort with such a look of pain. she tried to communicate and in the end i give her an "A" for effort. other than that it was good times, i think i will not order the same thing i ordered last time tho, curry..yes! squid..no! the boys ordered something that i enjoy eating aswell, but it was, unfortunately served with peanut sauce, so i did not partake in the yumminess.

dropped the boys off at their respective homes. but all went awry when i cheeked moog good-bye. it took about a 15' distance for me to start reacting to the remnants of peanut sauce from moog. itchy palms, neck, throat, and the blowing up of the face too!! i decided to gun it home. literally gun it. fate seemed to have it in for me that night, i went straight for the highway and found that the ramps from avenue to bayview were closed. awesome! after a bit of diversion i get on the highway and proceed with the "gun it" plan. the whole time sneezing and wheezing 135 km/h home!! seriously i was a mess, but i was laughing for a while because can you imagine being pulled over for speeding??

roll down window. "uh. hi officer!" give him a glare with the quasimodo left side of my face. "i was speeding right?"

the officer taken a back by my eye says, "yah you were going pretty quickly it's a good thing...uhhhh, are u ok?"

"i'm having an allergic reaction from saying bye to a friend, i'd like to explain to you the whole situation but if i stick around any longer you're going to have to reach into my laptop bag pull out my 6" life-saver needle and jab it into my outer thigh...would u mind if i go and get some medicine in me? or are we prepared to break my record of never having to use the 6" life-saver needle?"

the officer responds by putting away his ticket book and leading me home with sirens a blaze at 160 km/h!

ha ha that would be awesome!! that would totally beat gerky's curfew excuse. anyway, that's what led me to be home and not at work today. and worse i'm writing this so late because only now has my eye started to subdue. i slept most of the day because i missed my left eye. i figured i was home, i could get some reading done, reading with one eye gave me a headache, so i stopped that quick fast and in a hurry. watching tv was even worse, so that stopped too. bottom line, i couldn't do anything without giving myself a headache. so i slept. and now here we are...

he said...I SAID

ok, i've had several requests to throw these on here for the random eyes, and the regular eyes that peruse my blog. so here u go!

if there are any more you would like to add, i've added the comment feature onto the blog, just toss it up there and all will be good in the world. here goes:

gerky, mafu says he got the bag first. i say it's a nice bag regardless, it's funny that i didn't recognize it as the same bag.

jay, loi says you're a titi gazer. i say...well...you're a TiTi GAZER! stop looking at the TiTi!!

THE NOT-SO LEGAL DISCLAIMER: people told me to put this up here, i'm not poking fun at you. get over it. all jokes and laughs. rememeber, everyone's entitled to MY opinion. thanks.
